How I saw...

How I created an abstract

Facade of a building  with panels presented to me many opportunities to interpret and present it in many different ways. It was a multi-storied office building in Tokyo ,where hundreds of people work for their daily living. I am always surprised by the stringent work culture of Japan, which to an Indian eye seems quite restricting and unfathomable.

This visualisation lead me to edit the picture where bars look closer then they are, confining people inside .Lights inside are on irrespective of hours, indicating the presence of the people at anytime of the day. As I spent sometime looking at this building, idea of confinement grew in my mind and it lead to this presentation.

  2. Intesting how you show that our views of the world are influenced by our cultures ( "to an Indian eye").
Your image shows emprisonment and austerity.
Thanks for sharing your views, Sonali, on what makes your perception of abstractness unique.

  3. It certainly looks like a cage, a modern one.. At the beginning i thought it might have been part of a factory or something like that then i read your comment. Great image and this feeling of confinement is very evident.
